Assorted And Completely Unrelated Questions for my F-List

  1. Let's say Sev is thinking of asking for either an X-Box or a PS3 for Christmas. Tell me about both of them: pros and cons, games I can get, which you would recommend for someone who is kind of a shitty gamer anyway. Let's go!
  2. I have a bit of code I wrote a while ago that could potentially be used for a fic exchange. I'm not sure it's going to work ( Read more... )

entries in list form, bullet points make an entry right, am i really 30?, blatant and shameless self-promotion

I never noted this or even commented on the story because I am a boor, but uh OK hello, I added you to my reading page because of Same As It Never Was, which I think I ran across out of curiosity about seeing the suddenly bechdel tag somewhere on AO3 and immediately fell in love with despite not having played FFVIII in TEN YEARS. Like a lightbulb over my head! 'This is what I always found unsatisfying about the Squall/Rinoa relationship: there is no Quistis in it'. So Quistis/Rinoa essays would have at least one delighted reader that you are unlikely to have known about.

OH HEY! Sorry, I can be pretty bad at keeping up with my F-List. XD Hooray Same As It Never Was - we are actually just starting to write the next batch of chapters, so I'm glad someone likes it!

QUISTIS/RINOA, see, here's the thing -- I really adore that pairing but I thought I had made it up. HOWEVER upon replaying this game, I am seeing hints. Obviously it's not canon, and it gets drowned by Squall/Rinoa, but I am like LOOK THERE'S ACTUAL KIND OF EVIDENCE FOR MY CRACK FEMMESHIP, I WIN.

1. I would totally recommend the x-box. I have one and I love it. Game wise, I'm not sure if these are available on PS3 aswell or not, but I can rec you my favourite games on x-box. Dragon Age Origins, Fable II, Lost Odyssey, Resonance of fate, The Last Remnant are all Rpg games, or kind of rpg games. If you're after a bash the crap out of shit, rip things apart and generally go batshit crazy game, then Prototype is awesome. For childish, nerdy fun (and a great one for two player drunken shinanagins) any of the Lego series games are great ( ... )

I don't own a 360. I can't tell you very much about it and say I'm accurate. The main things I know are that you have to pay a subscription that's ~$60 per year to play online and have access to demos and such, but their marketplace updates daily. I had also heard that they make it really, really hard to end your subscription for Live, but they may have fixed that by now. Oh, and for some reason 360 seems to be a haven for all the "gurl gamers" to flock and advertise their existence as gurl gamers. I never see gurl gamers heavily advertising that they have a PS3. There are definitely women that play games on the PS3, but they don't heavily advertise the fact that they're female and play video games. Just an observation ( ... )
