Yeah, I've wrestled on and off with my contacts this year, and as I discovered how limited my options were I decided that I would at LEAST get the evaluation. I plan to go next January when I have a break from class and have some time to actually put thought into it. And yeah, like I said, even if I only get corrected partially it would still be a HUGE benefit for me, so I have a feeling that if I'm a candidate, I might get it next year.
(And thank you for this question - someone has clarified for me the difference between the medical definition of "legally blind" and the benefits-eligible definition... I HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING TODAY.)
