God, your post was delicious.

I went just after the morning rush, so I got in and out of my poling location in about 30 minutes.

As far as the icon goes, I can't think of a good caption, but I DO keep getting this ridiculous idea that perhaps COCK would've been a better VP than anyone.

I have to wait until after class, and then I will have to fill out the address change form and vote provisional, because I TOTALLY DIDN'T REALIZE that moving 5min away actually puts me in a different district! OOPS.

What is my prize? Please say it is more uncomfortable Obama dancing. Have you seen the clips of him on Ellen? PAINFUL!

Yours is officially the best "Go Vote" message I've seen today, simply because it acknowledges this:

I also hope that you haven't gotten so psyched over the presidential election that you've ignored your local races and local issues. Often, it's the local stuff that can really be influenced by a few determined voters; also, often, it's the local issues that are really going to affect your life more.

A lot of people feel like one vote doesn't count. Hell, I feel that way about the presidency, since I've never lived in one of the battleground states. But there's more than that, there's more to it than that, and it's good to see someone highlighting that fact for a change. ^_^

Thanks for saying this :) This year, I feel like the only person more concerned about local stuff than about the presidency, but Ohio (which gets a lot of attention for being a "battleground state") is slowly dying, and it needs my help. And yeah, it helps me feel like my one vote counts towards something -- I can look at the tallies and be all, "One of those was me!"
