I left my camera charger in Malaysia, which explains the lack of photos. Most of these are from
starstray and her friends.
I was pleasantly surprised at the volume of stuff we sold. Everyone who came by our booth were very chatty and friendly. Quite different from the more reserved CF crowd (where I had such a bad experience selling prints way back in 2004 because my stuff really sucked back then).
Most people just looked at my kuso DRRR!! and Bella Hetalia pics like they were in an art gallery (basically just pointing and laughing, then moving on). I guess what someone said to me about the reason people buy prints is true: they want to see their favourite characters acting cool. But that's exactly the type of art I shy away from: characters posing without a unifying concept or a clever joke. If I wanted characters looking cool I'd just buy the official merchandise. I guess I should be glad I'm not making a career out of this. OTL
Enough of my complaining, on to the pictures!
There were so many great cosplayers but I had to be content with just people-spotting from my table. I saw a bunch of Stormtroopers making 2 of their "hostages" do jumping jacks outside the hall. XD
^ He had the speech and mannerisms down pat!
starstray called him the Jack Sparrow with the big bum. D8
^ Beautiful Yukari! She said she had a George when I met her but I missed taking a couple shot because I didn't really leave the event hall. T^T
Look at how much stuff we have!
By Sunday we had sold off most of our prints. We were mostly just drawing and doing print exchanges. All my Altairs were bought by guys. 8D I got AusHun and conductor Austria from
starstray and a print from
strobolights (Toonikun) in exchange for GaGa Shizaya.
I think the highlight of the con was getting to meet Roger Craig Smith, the VA for Ezio (Assassin's Creed 2). He sounds really American but he told us that he learned his Italian lines phonetically, and he even did a little demo! ♥
^ I basically got killed by Ezio. ♥
I hope I can attend next year's Expo. IF I manage to get a job in Europe. OTL And I'll definitely buy more Sainsbury cookies the next time. T^T I've been on an unsuccessful cookie quest here in Dublin but none come even close.
