Maybe it is because you spent so long not being allowed to be who you are inside? Now you are self-conscious about everything because you have been judged so much. You will get there. I was on a forum for trans the other night and they were talking about reverting to old behaviors around certain people; maybe that is what is happening, you get around a girl you would like to talk to and you go back to the behaviors from earlier in your life. I agree that you should go and do what you want to do...what better way to meet someone who shares that same interest?
