Freeeeedooooom!; the perils of LJ

YAY! No more BAM ever again! Except when I go in to raid the sale tables, and at Christmas when I... go raid the sale tables (on behalf of my nieces and nephews). I got lots of hugs and good wishes (though this may have been spurred by the fact I brought doughnuts and cookies for everyone) and collected emails so I could keep in touch with some ( Read more... )

bam, yay!

Ah yes...the addiction of LJ! It's starting to suck me in good 'n' proper these days.....but at least it's a free, fun hobby and we get to meet new people! *justify justify*

Eep...case in point - I've been online nearly 2 hours, on the PC about 3 and hubby's climbing the walls to get on here.

AND it's gone 1pm and I haven't eaten....

And it has you writing! All that good fic, plus spurred you on to start your novel. *justifies some more* Maybe you need a laptop so you can both have a computer. ;)

I followed your link to Unshelved and darn if I wasn't up until midnight last night reading back issues! And I must make some cheap knockoffs of those "What happens in the library stays in the library" shirts! My library assistants and regular visitors say that regularly. It fits, though, since how many other libraries is it not strange to walk in and find the librarian learning how to dance a "booty roll" from a pack of displaced yearbook staffers while dance club remixes play out of computer speakers? No, it's not a typical day, but it's a good day.

Hee! It is a really good comic. I may end up buying their first book so I can see the year or so I missed before someone at SLIS told me about it. You should email them your fun library antics - they've said that's how they get ideas. And subscribe to the daily email instead of taking the entire site on all at once! Glad to hear you're having fun. ;)

I forgot to mention the hedgehog nibbling corn on the circulation desk (the smuggled in pet of one of the assistants). A real live hedgehog, with a snuffly, wiggly nose. Very Beatrix Potter-y cute. :) My job has a lot of headaches and hassles, but then a good moment happens that makes me feel happy for a while. That and paychecks. One of those can always bring a smile. ;) You'll be getting some paychecks to smile about soon!! :)

So what's the latest updates? Or are you waiting for the dust to settle from the whirlwind before telling? ;)

Whirlwind. Oi. I may take a breather to tell about the interview (the first one where everything was done right!) and the Apartment Hunt of Doom (aaaargh!). Mostly right now it's just stuffing things into boxes and wondering how I got so much junk.
