Happy birthday, castalianspring! Yes, I can finally reveal that it was I who arranged for two Doctors to entertain you yesterday. ;-)

Going to Bosslady's daughter's wedding this evening. After listening to Bosslady stress over it for months, I'm sure it will be perfect.

I really like this cable pattern and would like to make it some day. It looks worlds more ( Read more... )

Thank you! What a clever gift. *g*

That's a lovely scarf pattern, even though I know you want something reversible. Surely a plain knit or stockinette backing would look nice on that? Or even a felt of the same color. I like the mittens she links to as well, though that's way beyond my skill right now.

Very pretty, though colorwork like that makes my brain hurt just thinking about trying to do it. I think I'll try some fingerless mitts some time soon, though. That might necessitate a LYS trip, since I want to do them in something nice.

Speaking of nice things, is there anything you want from KnitPicks? If we got together on an order we could make the $45 for free shipping and you could just pay me back for your share. I want some of the stuff they have on clearance, but not enough to make a whole order. Urgh, this doesn't exactly count as yarn-dieting, does it?

Mine too! It just looks so intricate, all those little patterns. I doubt I'd wear fingerless mitts, but I would like to make some glommits, the fingerless gloves with the mitten flap. I love those.

Heh, no, it doesn't. Honestly, I don't have the money to order anything right now. The only thing on their site I'd want is maybe some of the interchangeable circs, and that will have to wait until I can afford the indulgence.

The needles are totally worth the indulgence. You could ask for them for Christmas. I'm not a fan of the organizer case, but the needles themselves are great to work with, plus you then have (almost) every size you'll ever need.

I have some glommits. They're cute and, um, handy but not very well-made (but what do you expect for $3?) and the yarn seems too thick between my fingers. But they were great the day I couldn't find my real gloves, which are sadly decrepit anyway. They'll do fine until I can find some others or make my own.
