drowlingkurai Chapter 2
Chapter 2
Kame rubbed his eyes with his thumb and forefinger as he suppressed a yawn. He looked down at the paper that would usually be about half filled with notes by this point in a meeting, but today there was only two hastily scribbled lines that he could barely read and little doodles all over the page. It was just one of those days where he was too tired to pay attention to anything. He knew things were bad since even he was admitting that he was working himself too hard and that maybe declining that weekend getaway with Koki had been a bad idea. All he wanted was crawl back in bed and sleep for a year instead of being in this meeting room listening to Johnny go over possible tour dates and television appearances with their managers.
Blinking repeatedly, Kame willed his tired eyes to focus on the piece of paper in front of him. He knew that as the group leader he really needed to be paying attention to what was being said. Shifting slightly in his chair, Kame was grateful for the semi-comfortable plastic chair he was sitting in since he was pretty sure that was the only thing keeping him awake at the moment. Finally finding a comfortable position Kame rested his chin in the palm of his left hand, right hand poised to take notes. Maybe if he closed his eyes for two seconds he could still hear what was being said but also start to feel better.
Kame opened his eyes again because of a sudden loud crash. He blinked his eyes a few times in attempt to clear his vision, and the pain that was now coming from the side of his head...
...Which was now lying on the table...
And everyone was staring at him...
His over tired brain started putting the pieces together slowly, realizing the loud crash had been his head hitting the table; after he'd fallen asleep. Sitting up Kame tried to rub the sleep from his eyes with the heels of his palms finally succumbing to a yawn.
"I think I fell asleep," he mumbled to no one in particular before looking at the group.
"You think?" Nakamaru asked from his seat across the table beside Ueda, quirking an eyebrow in his direction.
Kame gave into another yawn, trying to hide it by burying his face in his crossed forearms that were now leaned against the table top. Feeling a hand run through his hair, he lifted his head to find a concerned Koki watching him. Kame lifted his eyebrows in question since Koki was usually much better had hiding his feelings for the younger man while in the group. Or maybe it was just his over worked brain that was making too much out of this, and to an outsider Koki just looked like a concerned friend. Kame was just too exhausted to figure it all out at that moment.
"Kame, when was the last day off you had?" Johnny asked from the head of the table. He looked at the youngest idol with the same look of concern that Kame found on every face in the room. Kame looked at Johnny blankly as he tried to separate the blur of days in his head. Surely he'd had a day off in the past... month?
Johnny shook his head and looked at Kame with an almost fatherly look on his face, "if it's taking you this long to figure it out, you need a break. Koki take him home." he finished turning to Koki.
Resting his chin on his arms, Kame tired to suppress another yawn and failed "I'm fine, I don't need to go home. I'm just a little tired."
Junno chuckled softly from his seat at the foot of the table, "so you were just showing us the effect artistic snoring will have on our fans? Thinking of adding that into our next tour somehow?" he flashed his trademark smile.
Kame glared at the other man for even mentioning such a thing, "I wasn't snoring."
"Actually, you kinda were," Ueda replied with a smirk earning him a glare from the younger man. He shrugged it off, "you looked cute."
"Alright guys, I have strict orders to get this guy home and in bed" Koki interjected standing.
"Actually you have strict orders to get him home, you added the 'in bed' part yourself" Maru stated throwing a knowing smile in the direction of the rapper. Koki just shrugged as he took Kame by the elbow and pulled the other man to his feet.
Kame looked around the room trying to make one last feeble protest "but the meeting-"
"We'll update you tomorrow on any decisions," Junno replied turning serious while reaching for the paper Kame had been writing his notes on. "Which we were probably going to have to do anyway."
Ueda watched as Koki dragged the still protesting Kame to the door. Ueda could not believe how much Kame had changed over the past few years. He's watched him grow from that skinny boy to the man with the incredible body. It was moments like this where Ueda's eyes seemed to have a mind of their own as they passed over Kame's broad shoulders, down his toned back to his narrow waist and finally end at his tantalizing hips and ass as he walked out of the room. Koki followed closely behind Kame blocking Ueda's view. Breathing heavily through his nose, Ueda snuck a quick peak to his right only to find Junno watching him closely. Turning his attention quickly back to the meeting, Ueda hoped Junno didn't see him openly check out Kame since that was going to lead to Junno questioning him about it later. And one thing was for certain having his lover question him about his crush just had disaster written all over it.
"Koki, I'm able to walk on my own," Kame stated flatly as Koki's arm wound its way around his waist, hand grazing his ass in the process.
"It's not every day I can get away with walking supporting you since you're too tired to walk straight. I plan on milking this for all it's worth," Koki replied, a mischievous smile gracing his features. As Koki held the door leading to the parking garage open for Kame to walk through first, he noticed the look in Koki's eyes and realized how far the other man planned to 'milk it'. Kame rubbed his temples, he could feel a huge headache coming on and he really wasn't in the mood to fight off Koki's advances. He admitted it had been a long time since they had last had sex however he was seriously beyond 'not in the mood'. Maybe if he gave in and gave Koki one round of sex he would be left alone for the rest of the day to sleep, but Kame seriously doubted it.
Reaching into his jeans pocket, Kame pulled out his keys and headed in the direction of his car, only to be pulled the opposite way before he was even able to take one step. "My car is that way," he needlessly stated pointing in the direction he had been heading moments ago.
"And if you honestly think I'm going to let you drive in your current state you're crazy. I don't even want to think about of how many accidents you almost got into this morning" Koki said looking terrified at the mere thought.
Glaring at the other man Kame crossed his arms over his chest, "my driving isn't that bad," he countered sounding slightly offended.
Koki sighed as he stopped next to the passenger door of his car. Turning to face the younger man he reached up and cradled Kame's face between his hands soothing away some of the annoyed look in his lover's tired eyes. "I'm not saying you're a bad driver. I'm saying the thought of you getting behind the wheel of a car when you're this tired scares me. If you had fallen asleep at the wheel and something had happened to you this morning-" Koki stopped looking away unable to finish without taking a calming breath.
"I don't know what we would do without you," he continued softly then shook his head and looked Kame in the eye again "I don't know what I would do without you."
"But my car," Kame started stubbornly causing Koki to shake his head again in mild frustration.
I basically tell the guy I love him and all he can think about is his car. Koki thought before answering,"We'll figure out a way to get it back to you after the meeting."
"But-" Kame started but before he could get any further he felt Koki's lips press against his own, effectively cutting off his train of thought. Breaking off the kiss Koki rested his forehead against the other male's.
"Kazuya, please let us take care of you. Let me take care of you." He pleaded softy rubbing his fingers across Kame's cheeks. Feeling his lover nod his head in agreement, Koki lifted his head enough to place another soft kiss on Kame's lips. Stepping away Koki opened the car door and held out his right hand palm up. Heaving a sigh Kame slapped his keys into Koki's outstretched hand before climbing in the car. Buckling his seat belt Kame settled into the seat as Koki made his way to the drivers side of the car. Resting his head against the headrest Kame closed his eyes while Koki climbed in the car and started the engine. Kame was asleep before they even left the garage.
Koki chuckled softly as he heard the steady breathing beside him signalling Kame had fallen asleep again. Stopping at a red light, he turned to look at the sleeping man, a look of fondness washing over his face. He had never understood the idea of loving someone so much it hurt but he understood it now, all too well. Koki had never uttered the words to Kame since he knew the feelings weren't returned. He wasn't him, the one that had broken Kame's heart beyond repair. Kame had never said who he was but Koki had a very good idea. Considering right after Jin left the group Kame seemed to taken on the mission to sleep with as many Johnny's as would have him. Koki has tried to plead with Kame to stop, saying he was going to get hurt one day. Kame had laughed stating he was only living up to his title of the 'slut of JE' and added jokingly that it was impossible to rape the willing. Kame soon found out he had been wrong.
Koki would never forget the rainy night he had answered his pounding door to find a totally drenched and shivering Kame on the other side. Upon further inspection Koki couldn't figure out if Kame was shivering from cold or from the look of absolute terror that filled his eyes. Kame had stood there in his doorway arms hugging himself, shirt torn down the front and a bruise forming on his chin where someone had hit him. Before either of them had been able to say anything Kame had crumpled to the ground and broke down in body wracking sobs. Koki had held him in the entrance way of his apartment until the sobs had turned into whimpers and Kame was finally able to stand. Wrapping him in every blanket he owned, Koki had lead the still shivering man to bed where he held him until Kame drifted off into a fitful sleep.
Koki was torn from his memories as a car behind him blared the horn letting him know the light had turned green. Koki shook his head trying to clear the haunting memories as he eased along with the traffic again. He had talked to Kame about that night a few times. The only thing he knew was that it had only been attempted rape, not that there was a huge difference in Koki's mind. No matter how many times he asked, Kame never told him who had done it. Koki had made a silent vow that if he ever found that man he would make him pay dearly for what he had done. Again he had a huge suspicion who it had been but he really hoped it was wrong. But a part of Kame had died that night and it had taken months of softly whispered promises and gentle caresses for Kame to be comfortable enough to have any sort of physical relationship.
The only good thing to come from that night was Kame stopped sleeping around. Instead he had spent every night for weeks falling asleep in Koki's arms. Every night Kame was plagued by nightmares waking up in cold sweats; leaving Koki to try and hush him back to sleep. Before either of them realized the hushed whispers were being joined with soft kisses to the forehead and Kame climbed into Koki's bed not just for comfort but because it didn't feel right otherwise.
Pulling into a parking spot at Kame's apartment Koki turned to the still sleeping man. He tenderly pushed away the hair that had fallen into his face during the drive a small smile pulling on his mouth as he watched the younger man sleep. Leaning in he brushed a light kiss on Kame's forehead then reached down to release both their seatbelts. He walked around to the passenger side of the car to complete the task of detangling Kame from the seatbelt.
"Koki," Kame muttered drowsily turning his head towards the other man trying to keep his sleep heavy eyelids open.
Koki kissed Kame's temple then nuzzled the younger man's head with his own, "I'm right here my sleepy little turtle."
"Don't call me that" came the mumbled answer as Koki placed Kame's arm around his neck. Hoisting Kame out of his car, Koki half walked half dragged the barely coherent man to his apartment. As they reached the right door, Koki reached in his pocket and pulled out the keys Kame had handed over earlier. Once inside, Koki had to balance removing their shoes and handling an excited Ran-chan who was overjoyed at seeing her owner home. Finally getting the dog settled down, Koki lead Kame to his bed where he tucked him in snugly. Running his hand through Kame's hair Koki gazed down, fighting the urge to join the younger man who desperately needed sleep, in the bed. He'd call later on when Kame was more awake and they could make good use of their mutual night off. Koki placed one last kiss on Kame's lips and finally whispered the words he had been wanting to say for years "I love you, Kazuya."
It was followed by the response Koki had been afraid to hear and the main reason he had never uttered those words before "love you too, Jin"
