school tries to sell grades

LINKBasically a middle school in North Carolina tried to set up a fund raiser where students would get 20 points that they could put to two tests (10 points/test) if they donated $20. How on earth did no one say "THIS IS A BAD IDEA!!" I mean seriously ... teaching kids that it is okay to bribe your way into better grades? What is going to happen ( Read more... )

I heard about that. My only thought would be to make the tests harder, so they would still have to work super hard, but that would put others at disadvantages if they hadn't gotten it, or what test people use it on, etc. I have also never had students try to bribe me though. Some did beg (but for like extra credit work to do, or accepting late homework, not just give them free points), but there was no bribery.
