She's super-cute! I hope your trial goes well and that she figures out "left." I had herd-bound issues w/Feronia and it took a while to deal with it, but she's fine now.
Thanks! I remember reading about the herd-bound issues you had with Feronia. I'm thinking if I don't work her at home in sight of Blue, she might have an easier time dealing with being away from her herd. *crossing fingers*
I took things pretty slow with Feronia; I know that a better/braver rider would have pushed through it (and in fact the Fearless Teen did), but it had to be comfortable for both me and her to be alone.
I do think taking them away from their buddies helps... and taking them *to* places with other horses while you're still getting used to each other helps, too.
Thanks! She really is just cute as a button. Especially compared to the two 15hh+ horses that were in the pasture next to her, she looked sooo tiny when we first got there!
I'm hoping she'll be a little more affectionate than Blue. I love Blue to pieces, but I wish he wasn't so human-shy.
Now I think she's as cute as boots. And she'd look really exotic on the trails along with Fabio McFattyButt ;) You on a Fjord, and me on a Haffie. If you keep her, get her a really bold color like purple or something to use for her trail gear
( ... )
Well there ya go. That black bridle you got from me, your Crestridge if it fits her and zowee, black would look good on her. You could probably get a black breastcollar with burgundy/wine overlay. Would look pretty striking on her, especially with her pale summer coat. I decided Jet would wear pink. Thinking of getting the Weaver "Tough enough to wear pink" collection for her show tack and then pink biothane for her trail gear.
Well, that's good if they get along to let them have turnout together, but keep them mostly apart. Maybe you'll be able to add a gate to the side for Trina if you keep her.
Ha. Mitch pulls like a train. He's gotten better at it. I'm sure you can handle her.
Sometimes. But most of the time he trots with his head up. Used to pulling against the traces, I think.
