Thanks to the inexplicable actions of my endocrine system, about once every 28 days I have the sudden, overpowering urge to clean something. I don't just mean casual straightening here. Conveniently, that is about how often you actually need to say, empty the toaster oven crumb tray or re-alphabetize the canned goods.

i love this post so much. the same thing happens to me but with cooking. god bless the 24-hour kroger a mile from my house. not so much cleaning: i only ever clean compulsively if (a) i have a paper due or (b) i started cleaning something out of necessity and then started noticing more and more minute things to scrub at. actually, i have a paper due right now...

There is a direct relationship between the amount of work I have due and the cleanliness of my room, to be sure. I also tend to visit the grocery store at odd hours more toward the end of the semester as well. Hurrah for 24 hour grocery stores.
