Very nice! Now all they have to do is give the Electronic Paper a "touch screen" interface and separate it from the box, and we'll have Smart Paper, almost as described by Neal Stephenson in The Diamond Age.

Well. I was impressed, so I told Dad about it. And of course he immediately found some faults with it - things like, "how long will it last" and "loss of sales" for publishers, esp. when it comes to certain people that want to make you pay again for the book/movie/whatever every time you read/see it more than, oh, three times. Stupid people.

But yeah. It sounds really impressive. I'd just wait for the third or fourth generation, so we know the kinks are all worked out, there's no abandoned, proprietary formats, and it's not something that will just peter out and disappear, leaving you with... well, an expensive piece of junk.
