Thanks for reminding me why I'm a liberal.

Out here in Redlands I've ended up having to read a lot of conservative screeds about how Democrats want to raise taxes on oil companies and thereby destroy the economy and individual freedom. I was almost starting to believe some of it.

But no, what we're really trying to do is limit giant faceless organizations' freedom to pretend to be individuals, behave like psychopaths (with the bonus of being able to hurt thousands or millions of people all at once), and get rewarded for doing so.

Situations like this remind me that I need a more intense curse than "Fuck you with a chair. Sideways." Also that I need to get rich and famous sooner, so I can actually help people more.

There's at least the layoff pay, though, right?
