I don't really think this is a prison. We can leave our rooms, and there's the library and the kitchen and the art room... There's more to do here than they ever gave us in the lab. Plus we can leave if we want. In the ports anyway.

I kind of like it here.

I heard that we can help with things? Like in the kitchen and the library?

home sweet barge, can has usefulness plz, cyborg has a happeh

Prison is a term that was applied liberally by the negative-minded. I would conclude that it's more of a rehabilitation center.

Um. That makes sense. [She feels like she should curtsy to her journal or something .__.] You're one of the new wardens, signore? All of the wardens want to be here too, right?

Yes, I'm a new warden, here of my own volition. Castiel.

You're Henrietta.

XD Oh Castiel. Way to set off a half-dozen alarms. fireintothesky February 18 2010, 08:35:05 UTC
...Yes. How did you know that?

There are jobs in the library, the kitchen, the gym and the infirmary, I think. Maybe some other places. I know the kitchen always needs more people.

...I'm Merlin, by the way, I don't think we've...

Hello.

[There are lots of very carefully blacked-out words. Mostly they are Italian for OMGSQUEE.]

You're Merlin? The real one? It's very, very nice to meet you. Not meet you, but write to you.

Yes, the real one. Sort of. It's very nice to write to you, too. What's your name?

Henrietta, signore. Why are you here? Are you a warden?

look. paddy can deal with small people without swearing. :D christ_onabike February 18 2010, 14:09:47 UTC
Seconding the point about the kitchen needing more people. It's a common theme. Doesn't matter if you haven't done much cooking before.

Also, I hate to burst a bubble, love, but not all the ports are as, you know, semi-decent as that one. It's a bit hit and miss.

I've done a little!

Yes... I heard other people say that, but what does that mean, exactly, signore? What are the other ones like?

That'll be plenty. You'll pick it up, and it's better than cleaning.

Well, we went to New York, which most people enjoyed, but there was also a desert island where we had to camp and weird things kept happening. People drank water and started to sing, or turn green, or... there were worse things.

How old are you, love?

I'm not sure. Everyone keeps asking me that--is it important?

You're welcome to help in the library - I'm the librarian - but as I understand it the kitchen does need help, so you're welcome to go where you will. Or you can help out with each on occasion if you're ambitious, I suppose. No reason you should be tied to one over the other.

Oh, that would be very nice. Doing both. I got to cook a little--they called it enrichment--and the library... I don't know. It reminds me of someone. I like it there.

Well, you're always welcome, my dear, even if I'm not around. Inmates are free to check out books.
