I was trying to think of the word for the act of having obtained something... logically, it should be "obtention" (retain-retention, detain-detention), and while it does appear to be a word in the English language officially... it isn't exactly really - i.e. on merriam webster online it's only in the unabridged dictionary, ergo I do not have access

i have unfortunately had to discover that ALL languages are funny. English pales in comparison to some of them... *shudders*
