England played another group game in the World Cup finals last night, against Algeria.  I wouldn't know, I completely missed it.  I was oblivious to it other than to query on Facebook, my mate Dave's assertion that he hoped he would be home for 7.30pm to watch it.  My copy of the Radio Times told me it started at 6.30pm, so I asked whether this was ( Read more... )

Mr. Rooney has apologised ... he was upset at the end of a poor game (and I'm sure he knew he'd not played particularly well) and regretted what he'd said, and basically begged fans to cheer them on in the next game.

He knows that the team need the supporters behind them, because they certainly haven't played well so far.

Speaking as a Scot of Welsh/English descent who subscribes to the 'Anyone But England' camp of football supporters (I'm sick & tired of having football this and football that rammed down my throat - if they won, God forbid, we'd never hear the end of it!!)...
