Gun dimensions?

Hey all -

A friend of mine is making me a replica of Mal's gun holster in exchange for some artwork, and he needs to know the dimensions of Mal's pistol in order to do so. I don't own a replica of the gun yet but intend to purchase one at some point. Does anyone know the correct measurements to use off hand?

it's 14.5" long from the tip of the barrel to the back of the grips. the barrel is 3/4" diameter (hexagonal) it is 1.5" at the thickest part of the body.

my pistol is cast from an original from the TV show, so i'm pretty confident that the size is accurate. BUT, depending on where you get your replica from, they can vary. it would really be best to get the gun first, then the holster.
