Grrrr! Arrgh!

Still no nursing job. The class behind us was apparently advised not to bother looking for jobs and just to apply for transition-to-BSN programs. One of my classmates looks like she's going to be working in NC, and she was the most aggressive person I've spoken to yet in terms of applying for absolutely every possible position in-state. I'm ( Read more... )

It'll be lovely to see you!

As for the jobs ... It beggars belief that there should be no positions for nurses, doesn't it?

You too!

It really does. Some of it is regional glutting. You know what really freaked me out? This one agency was looking for nurses, including new grads, to send to England.

England.

*boggles*

I knew the dollar was in rough shape, but really? We've become the cheap imported labor?

If I see that again (it seems to have closed for now but may be cyclical), I may just have to go for it. A chance to not only get some experience under my belt, albeit in a completely different health care delivery system, and with enough time on the island (I think the term was for a year) to get to visit friends and check out various things we didn't have time for the last time we went over? I'm thinking I was crazy not to check it out when I first saw it.

Bummer on the job front, though at least you're not looking for a job so much as a more suited to your abilities job, which is something? The car situation sucks, too. A lot. I'm sorry.

Emailing and babbling at me may help. Writing might also help. :) Hopefully you'll find something useful, car-wise. Er, and job-wise, too, but I expect the car will sort itself out sooner.

True. At least I'm not completely unemployed. I'd really be up shit's creek in that scenario.

As per this morning's entry, I'm probably going to fix the old car after all. It's a gamble, but if I can buy enough time to get into a better financial position, then I won't feel like I'm tying myself to a car-shaped anvil when I do buy another.
