Damn! Only one more week of clinical to go!

Nov 18, 2009 08:26

And I'm finally getting the hang of the labyrinth that is this odd little hospital. I like to think it wouldn't have taken this long if I'd been here consistently rather than going elsewhere for the various rotations. And now we have next week off and December 1 will be the last day of clinicals. Lecture goes a bit longer. We have our last ( Read more... )

Presbyopia sucks. What's going on is that your ability to switch point of focus is slowing down. You'll need to move to progressives. *sigh* It stinks, but they help a LOT.

Just to ease your mind, you don't have to have abused your eyes for this to happen. It's just something that happens to almost everyone, especially as they get around 40ish. I've got excellent vision, but I'm needing them more and more myself. I can see just fine in the distance, and up close, but if I need to shift from distance to near and back much? Fuzzy.

Yeah, not looking forward to that. I have distance judgement and dizzy/falling issues as it is, which I gather is likely to be exacerbated while getting used to bifocals, especially progressives. Fun stuff.

And thanks. I have abused them though, and continue to. I don't seem to believe I actually need light to read despite decades of evidence that it's so much easier with it. *facepalm*

I'm rather boggled by the whole "let's start from series one again" idea, too. I heard Moffat wants to use this to differentiate his era, or something, but it just ... really doesn't make sense.

It's bad enough to have all the arguments about whether Nine's year was season one or season 27... at least with the old series, I pretty much know which story was in which season. Well, at least with Three's stories. Not that I have those memorised or anything.

I've mostly managed to stay away from the finale spoilers this time, so I largely just know what was in the Next Time teaser, i.e. who will show up (or at least some of them). Should be interesting!

LOL!! I gather Three is one of the really popular Doctors, so I look forward to getting to his stuff. I'm still watching One at this point.

Ditto. Anything else is purely speculation on my part, which is how I prefer it.

Well Hello my Twin! LOLOLOL

Eyes - what Mattie said, plus - are you naturally nearsighted (without a shitton of astigmatism)? If you are you can remove your prescription eyeglasses for reading and your eyes will be much happier.

Hee!

Oh no, I have a shitton of astigmatism. Is that why the reading glasses don't work alone then? Huh.

Yup, that's why the reading glasses alone aren't working. If you have astigmatic contacts, then they should work with them. Best is to have the contacts in and then go to the store with reading material that is average size for you and try them on to see what power is best. You may just need a very weak power to help at the end of the day when you are fatigued, like a +.75 or +1.00.

Oooh, oooh! Totally unrelated, but wouldn't it be cool to have a fanfic -- you know, a Torchwood fanfic, or a HP fanfic, or a crossover of some -- that also has, I dunno, Pan or somebody as a character? That could be totally fun.

Of course, the fun part could be just watching you trying to write it. *innocent look*

duniazade has already requested that, so it's on my ever-growing bday fic "to do" list. If I can ever manage to write anything that is *not* TFTWSD again.

You know it's bad when I can read TFTWSD as readily as I can read LotR or BtVS. Hee!!
