That was the topic of today's discussion group at church. And I'm no more sure where I stand on it than before. Well, where I stand hasn't changed. Just, what I think ought to be the legal approach to the matter is still kind of iffy

I do agree that Bush's position is outright hypocrisy: you can experiment on them if they were just going to be discarded anyway.

This is why determining "what to call a human" is such a problem. People have frozen embryos that literally get thrown away. So, do we call fertility clinics "mass murder factories"?

Personally, I don't know where I stand on the issue mainly because of the reasons you've mentioned. Definitely not something easy to decide about.
