I'm in pretty desperate need for new clothes and for once in my life I have the money to buy said nice things. Problem is that in the next 1-3 months I will be undergoing Weight Loss Surgery. YOU ARE YOUR OWN LEATHER. THE HIDE YOU WEAR IS YOUR LEATHER - AND THE HEART THAT BEATS BENEATH IT IS THE ONLY MEANS OF MAKING IT LIVE. ALL OTHER LEATHER, NO MATTER HOW SENTIMENTAL - IS JUST A THING.
THINGS CAN BE REPLACED.
Consider that beautiful cherished vest the skin of a growing serpent. Shed old skin. Grow. Or in this case shrink as a means of growth.
As you shrink into the new improved you in better health you will be earning your own new leathers. Buy them with pride. Save the patches off the old pieces. Burn or bury the rest of the hide that is torn apart. Perform a ceremony in sacrificing them to the betterment of your life.
I have a gift for you when you reach a certain size - from my own collection.
Hugs and love and support and more.

You are going to shrink so quickly and so profoundly that nothing will fit... not boots, not hats, not socks... nothing.
Consider it a right of passage to reclaiming YOU - the you beneath all the trappings.
Join a support group NOW... one that has clothing exchanges. I know it is going to be hard... because hardly any butch women go to the meetings. But... feel free to snatch up men's clothing from them. Also - thrift stores. Buy pants which don't look silly baggy because within a week of buying a pair they will be and in two - silly and they will NOT stay up.
Get a pair or two of suspenders.
Hugs.
