50-book challenge update
Book #3 for this year was Mrs. Jeffries and the Silent Knight. These mysteries are pleasant to read, with an engaging cast of characters.

Finished the second book of the year last night.
On Fire's Wings by Christie Golden.
On the whole, I enjoyed this one - it was a fun, light read.

Today was a pleasant day at home. I am starting a Master's degree program next week (specifically in Postsecondary Adult Education), and am looking forward to the challenge. I lost steam on posting pretty early in the year last year, so I have no idea what the final total for 2007 was. I'll try to keep better track this year, but I am starting a Master's degree program next week, so I suspect my reading for fun will be seriously curtailed. Well, we didn't quite get everything we planned baked, but we still went through a very respectable 24 pounds of butter. E and I had a very nice Thanksgiving. We went to my parents' home for the day - my aunt and my sister and her husband were there as well. Since E and I arrived around 10:30, we were in time to help with some of the meal preparations. So, I peeled potatoes and prepared radishes for the table while we chatted. General ramblings
I got my very first flu shot earlier today. The nurse was pretty good - I really barely felt it. Although she did have to stick me twice, because the needle she used the first time was seeping, and she wanted to make sure I got the full dose of vaccine.
