So in the off chance that I will EVENTUALLY get that damned Power Rangers helmet that I've been waiting for for a year (and spent all my savings on last year), do you think I could commission any of you to make the skintight suit for me? :/ I have no sewing skills and I feel like making something that stretches will break me (and my mind) on ( Read more... )

Hahaha I was way too old for that :P

It might be easier to buy a yellow one and alter it to fit perfectly, and to have the white diamonds.

OH and you DO NOT WANT TO BE SEWING SPANDEX BY HAND. I hope that's clear enough. I've tried, it's faaaaaaaaaaail. Alsoooooo make sure if you buy spandex, you get 4 way stretch, and it's from Spandex House! I love their huge selection, they send you samples for a very low cost and sooo worth it!! and their customer service is wonderful.

I was thinking about doing that, but it sounds really freakin' complex to sew nonstretchy white diamonds on to stretch material. I'm sure something's going to tear or something when I put it on. D: Dunno, I have a while to figure things out. ^^ (Thanks for the link, I'll bookmark it. :D)

Uhhh, why wouldn't you use white spandex over the yellow? :P

You lucked out, my Bernina book was right behind me! You'll need the right kind of needle if you use a machine. The stretch fabric one looks rounded and blunter on the point. I also remember and the book confirms, zigzig is the best stitch for stretchy fabric, but they have a specific kind of zigzag. You also could get real close to the edge/on the edge, and not even need to hem it.
