Luscious metal, my first test drive of the year...

Sometimes, life stops sucking just long enough to remind you why it's worth it all. Yesterday was one of those days I was glad to have gotten up. Only one day prior, my VA site had a big pizza & beer party (four or five different kinds of beer, too) for a big teleconference regarding some good business we just got into, so the mood was still pretty ( Read more... )

I won't say I drooled, but... I might've had to mentally shout "down, boy!" when I climbed outta' that ride.

Nice subtle shade of blue -- a real Q-Ship. I think the owner's trying to get a license plate that reads "SUBTLE," in fact.

Baltimore? I wasn't aware that it's this weekend. I know Philly's still going on, and Chicago just started... Am guessing they're probably moving the cars straight down I-95 from Philly to Balt, then.

I don't think I have plans, as yet. I'll ask around and see if anyone I know has passes...

Bah.

1. Contacts in Baltimore yielded dick; which didn't matter because --
2. No assurance I'll have coverage this weekend, and thus freedom to go out and pretend for a few hours that I've got some kind of a life. And if that wasn't enough,
3. the show is being put on by Primedia, which owns all of the major car mags. My editor delivered a rather scathing rant concerning the current state of car mags, which probably isn't going to win us too many press passes for the next few weeks -- even though he's dead-on-balls accurate with every point in the article.

Ah well, I do hope you have a great time -- and get lotsa' pics, too.

You know what? There really is just something about driving those BMW's, huh? The rush of it all. My boyfriend had a 1996 328iS, 5-speed of course, and while I know it's no M5, that thing truly hauled ass. I got my one and only speeding ticket in that thing going down I-5 on a road trip to Southern California. I don't regret it at all. They are such amazing machines. I'd kill to play in an M5. Even an M3. That was an exhilirating read if I do say so. Have fun in the 'Vette...:0)
