To be honest, the reason why I picked the textless one was that the text on the others looks clunky and it sort of distracts me from the rest of the icon because I'm impossibly nitpicky like that :[
There are some fonts that look terrible at certain sizes, and some fonts just aren't made for icons. :/ I really like Lanie Day, but it looks a lot better on things like headers and banners.
If you're going on an experimenting spree with text, can I suggest kerning? I find that it really helps with text that's in all caps and is quite small, so it doesn't look so squished together, but not so much with handwriting type fonts XD I'm not sure where it is on PSP, but there should be an option for it on wherever you edit your text.
And since we're talking about text, I really like it on that icon there, it's one of your best ones where text is concerned XD
Rosa and I were talking about that last night. CygnetRound is one of my personal favorites, but after comparing my wallpapers to my icons where I used it...the slant just doesn't WORK in tiny sizes. XD
Oh, kerning is awesome. XD I'm still getting the hang of it, but it does make all the difference in some cases.
I chose the textless one because the text on the others was hard to read. It could be my general bad eye sight, but I couldn't read the writing unless I squinted, and even then the picture itself had a lot of darkparts that made it hard to distinguish... Also.. small text = hard to read, it's even worse when it's a handwriting font. ^^;
I'm having issues deciding on one, so I'll just comment. 8D
I'm slightly partial to the textless one, but I could see the top one turning out nicely if the text were in a lighter color. The bottom one... it's nice, but the colors are slightly harsh. And the top one, I like the colors, but the text distracts quite a bit.
I really like 2's coloring, like rly rly rly, but like other people said, the text just feels kind of ... awkward. Text is so hard, hard enough so that half the time I don't even bother with it.
