There is nothing surprising about this kind of news popping up over the net. It's all about human stupidity. Now without all my cinism towards mankind I have to say I totally agree with you on this one. Even the punishment you found out. And - yes I know, it's a kind of dark humour but still - I'm afraid no bird of prey would enjoy having such meal, really. The worst about these articles, when you read them you get angry in a few moment, mostly because you feel incompetent and get a few ideas what you would do those morons if you had the chance. I'm afraid humanity will not stop killing endangered species until they're all doomed to extinction. *sigh*

Aye, the raptors would likely not take to the given meals, but at least it would make me a little happier. :P It is just painful sometimes to see how humans muck everything for the other species. IN an attempt to save the Vancouver Island Marmot, some activists went out and started gilling golden eagle's, another endangered species. WHile I can see the reason behind that more than these pigeons, I do not agree that our exterminating any species is good.
Then again, on the flip side, there are those of us out there that want to save the critters of the world without harming the other species. It is a very tough task, and there will always be a species that is hurt from our actions, but I believe a balance can be found.
