To Boldly Abbreviate

There's not much Star Trek on LiveJournal, but there is st_ficfinder; if you are familiar with prosfinder, it works pretty much the same way.

Recently, someone posted that they were looking for an ST:ID fic, and it took me a minute to realise they were looking for something related to Star Trek: Into Darkness - one of the recent(ish) reboot movies

Sheesh, and that doesn't even include the two they've got in production; the Enterprise during the time of Pike and another one that I can't think of at the moment.

I really do wish there was more TOS on LJ. There's kirkspock, which hasn't had a post since October of 2019, and kirkspockrecs, which hasn't had a post since April of 2015! Luckily there is st finder. which does have a decent amount of traffic.

I know - maybe they're all caught in the Tholian web?

I'm guessing a thing doesn't get an abbreviation until people start engaging with it - took a while for ST:AOS to bed in (and I notice that's not there either...)

I'm only really familiar with the original Startrek, Picard and Discovery (and have written for the last two). You will drown in fic on AO3, I think. As always, much love for minori_k.
