For those folk who notice such things, it will be apparent that I have been off Lj for quite a while. Some very bored folk may even have wondered what I have been up to. Well, not much, and quite a bit. I wasn't well, and neither was my computer, but I'm in a better place now, and my computer has retired (well basically it's become a DVD player),

Glad to hear things - mainly you, but also computers - have improved. I am not here much, or rather, if I am it's very fleeting. Work etc not leaving much time for anything else right now. But I live in hope.
Your meme is great fun to read!

Sometimes it's great when work takes over your life, other times not so much so.
Lovely to hear from you again (I have been thinking of you) - I've been there with fleeting presence - so I know where you're at.
I've got today off, so I'm going to treat myself to the Pros news letter and then I have to push on with transferring my junk to this computer. Back to the grind stone tomorrow - I'm up to my ears in unexpected project, but in the main things have calmed down workwise at my end.
I've got another long weekend coming up at the end of July and then I'm going to 'invent' and early August bank holiday for myself. I'd like to do some more reading and maybe some writing.
Look forward to your next random fly past :0)

I love the Merman story, I didn't think it was my cup of tea before reading it, but found myself unexpectedly inspired and moved by it...
And Minori's art... so lovely ;) 😊
Good luck with your new computer:)

I thought the same thing, it's so AU, but it draws you in.
Minori's art is absolutely lovely, but sadly the site at which she hosted her AO3 stuff has switched off her entries, so most of them don't appear there any more. She did a short series illustrating The Little Merman - but this is the only one I could still locate online.
I downloaded all her AO3 entries because I love her work - I would love to find a way to get it back on AO3, she was so always so thrilled when people enjoyed her work.
