 IT IS FAR TOO EASY TO LOSE A FREAKING POST ON LJ

Doesn't LJ know how to recover anything?? It remembered my Subject, which I wrote LAST, and not the post at all.  Lame.  Grr.  Stupid.  Should not lose a post by accidentally hitting random keys that magically equated to "Back".

=) I'm actually in a massive oldies phase in terms of music right now -- The Rembrandts, Barenaked Ladies, etc. Have you listened to Escala before? I love them! Strings!

I've never even heard of Escala. What kind of music do they play?

Also I am going through a huge Beatles obsession right now. Can't get enough of it. My family owns Let It Be...Naked album where they have the stripped versions of the songs. So for example "The Long and Winding Road" has this "wall of sound" where you hear the whole orchestra playing. I love that song; it's so beautiful. Well it's also on the Let It Be Naked album, but without the orchestra. Apparently the orchestra and "wall of sound" went against Paul McCartney's vision of the song. Personally I like the orchestra version better (I'm just partial to the epic sound you get with a full orchestra).

Speaking of all this, I miss orchestra. The last time I picked up my violin, I tried to tune it and popped a string. ::sigh::

Same here...I keep dreaming of Orchestra and it makes me really sad. I actually brought my viola here, except my bow hair fell apart getting here. le sigh.
