Last night's eclipse was wonderful.  It's a pity that half the U.S. seems to have been clouded over.

It was very cold here when the eclipse started, about 14 degrees above zero.  It had snowed the night before, and the snow was still on the ground and (mostly) pure white.  That meant a lot of reflections from street lights and moonlight at first.

Shouldn't the news report some of the unhappy feelings by the Serbs as well as the happy feelings by the people of Kosovo about their independence?  I assume the Serbs are feeling very unhappy at the moment.  They lost some territory and citizens.  Countries don't tend to like that sort of thing.  The news is supposed to give us both sides of the ( Read more... )

 Took out Microsoft frustrations by shoveling snow.  I actually like shoveling snow.  Despite well-meaning suggestions from friends and family, I have so far successfully resisted all hints that I'd be happier with a snowblower.
