You'd be hard pressed to find a supermarket in the country anywhere in Australia that's open after 5PM lol. You're lucky if they're open on Sunday at all.

However there's usually a pub that's good for eating in.

It is!:) It's open 9-12 on Saturday and Sunday. There is an outback diner that has pretty good food, though I've mostly just had fish and chips there.

Welcome to the 'real' Australia.

What you've described is pretty much what it's like outside the big cities. It's the 'real' Australia everyone seems to want to experience, but finds boring after they've been there for about five minutes.

I'm still okay after a week. The motel and the people I work with make up for the isolation.

Oh, God. Don't tel her to go to a B&S. They are the most classless, revolting things ever invented. Unless you're into getting pissed until you puke and screwing randoms...

I know guys who used to go to the B&S, get completely trashed, and end up pegging their suits onto the clothes line and hose them down because they were so revolting..

Sounds like you are seeing the real Australia.

Life is like that in the small towns in the US as well.

It's going to be funny to be in a big city again after this, I reckon...
