CSI Las Vegas Main List “I have no idea what you’re doing, but we need that table.” Warrick commented and
walked into the break room. Nick stopped banging his head to the table for a minute.
“I have no idea what I’m doing, but this feels appropriate.” He clonked his head
against the table.
“Stop that.” Warrick sat down next to him. Was last night that bad?”
“Last night?” The question had snapped Nick out of his trance. “What about last night?”
“When my blond had to leave I tried to find you. The barman said you left, so I
thought you had company.”
“I had company.” Nick confirmed.
“Bout time!”
“It shouldn’t have happened! It was an accident.”
“That’s the first time I hear anyone calling it that.”
“I didn’t mean to do it. He was there, and was taking his clothes off, and he was
whispering things to me….” Nick groaned and buried his face with his hands.
“Who’s he?”
“Greg.”
“Sanders?”
“Who else?”
“Now that I think about it, I didn’t see him either after you disappeared.”
“I was going to take him to his place, he was too drunk to leave alone.”
“And you ended up in bed. How awkward was the morning after?”
“I don’t know. I left before he woke up.”
“You’re kidding…”
“No, I couldn’t stand to hear what he thought about it.”
“If he suggested it, he`s probably not too upset.” Warrick chuckled.
“He was drunk! He would have slept with anyone and anything! I was
the designated driver, I shouldn’t have let things go that far.”
“Good night.” Greg skulked in like a re-animated zombie and headed straight
to the coffee pot.
“Hangover?” Warrick asked.
“That too.” Greg sighed. “I spend the day sleeping it away and trying to think
things right, but it didn’t go anywhere.”
“Things?” Warrick asked and glanced at Nick who hadn’t lifted his gaze from
his toes.
“Yeah. I need to ask you something.”
“Go ahead.”
“Did you see who I left with?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean everything is blank after first couple beers. The next thing I remember
is waking up in the morning. I was in my own bed and I obviously had some
company during the night. And whoever it was, he took off before I woke up.”
“You don’t know who it was?”
“No! At least I know we remembered protection, the evidence was laying on
the floor.”
“Well….” Warrick eyed Nick. “I was busy with my blond, I didn’t even see
you leave.”
“At least I`ll have a quiet night. I promised to cover for one of the techs,
she`s taking her kids to a Girl Scout Jamboree.” Greg swallowed the
last of his coffee, filled the mug again and left.
Warrick turned to Nick and smacked him hard on his shoulder. “What the
hell were you thinking?”
“I wasn’t thinking! I just… I thought that…”
“What?”
“That this will be the only chance I’ll ever get.”
Warrick let out a long sigh. “And what happens if he rememberes what
happened?”
“I don’t know….”
“Well, you better know. This whole thing can blow up on your face.”
“I know that! And if I knew some way to fix this, I would have already done that!”
“I can`t think of any othe way to get out of this than to tell him before he puts
the pieces together.”
“And he`ll hate me.”
“If he figures it out on his own, it can get a lot uglier than that.”

Nick leaned against the wall in the hallway and looked at Greg. The glaswalls
made it easy to see what he was doing, and several cups of coffee had
obviously woken him up. Suddenly Nick`s cellphone started ringing.
“Stokes.”
“Are you planning to come in or just enjoy the show?”
“Greg?” Nikc looked up again. Greg was holding his phone and smirking.
“You`ve been leaning against that wall for ten minutes. People will start talking.
I understand there`s not that much eye candy here in the lab, but if you want
something get in here.” Greg cut the call.
Nick walked to the lab. “Five minutes, tops.”
“Ten, I timed you. As fascinating as I am, do you want something?”
“I…. I just wanted to know if you got plans after the shift.”
“Yeah, breakfast and some sleep. Why?”
“You want company? For breakfast?”
“Sure. Ususal place?”
“No, I want to talk about something… could you come to my place for breakfast?”
“Not that I don’t appreaciate the invitation, but what`s going on? You`ve never
invited me to your place for breakfast.”
“I don’t want to talk in the diner, that`s all.”
“Okay.”
“Okay? You`ll come?”
“Yeah, but I expect to get something better than those health food concoctions
you tried to force feed to me and Warrick when we were there to watch the game.”
“Fine, I`ll get something on the way.”
“Remember the main guidelines. If the food`s greasy, sugary or caffeinated,
it’s good for you.
