Fic: Music Appreciation 101 (CSI, Nick Stokes/ Greg Sanders)

Notes: A little shortie, that bugged me till I gave up and agreed to write it.
Nick dug up his keys from his pocket and took a deep breath. Not that he was afraid
to face what was on the other side of the door, but when Greg had the night off and
he didn`t, it was always impossible to anticipate what he would come home to.
Greg had collected such an impressive amount of overtime, he was pushed to use
some of his time off, or he would lose them. And what was the final result? Greg
was bit too well rested and bouncing from wall to wall.
Luckily he had some entertainment to keep him busy. One of his old buddies had
travelled to Norway for a family gathering, and had used the opportunity to do a little
tour of the Scandinavia. Unfortunately for the neighbors, he had brought with him a
wide selection of local rock bands, making Greg float on cloud nine. Or in this case,
making Greg blast out his new musical favorites, so that he could "really internalize
the music", as he had put it.
Nick tried to gather his courage. Greg had only three more nights off, then he would
have no time to torture Nick or their neighbors, and he would be too tired in the
daylight hours for anything, except sleep. Nick twisted the key in the lock and pushed
the door open.
Like he suspected, music was playing and Greg was bouncing up and down on the
couch, playing air guitar.
"Nicky! I was waiting for you, I got a surprise for you." He snapped music off.
Alarm bells were clinging in Nick`s head, but he knew there was no escape, no matter
what Greg had in mind. "Okay, what is it?"
"Come here." Greg galloped to the coffee table and grabbed a paper bag from it.
He put his hand in it slowly like a magician showing off a new trick, and pulled out
some bright red fabric.
"What`s that?"
Greg throwed it to Nick and he started to unfold it. It was a t-shirt, with a picture of
Che Guevara printed in black on the front. "You got me a t-shirt? Thanks.."
"No, that`s just one part of this. I`m gonna give you a lesson in music appreciation."
"I can appreciate good music as much as the next guy, thank you very much."
"Country doesn`t count."
"It counts!"
"Just put it on."
Nick pulled off his shirt and put the new shirt on.
"And then the rest." Greg instructed.
"What `rest`?"
"Take off the rest of you clothes, just leave your undies and the shirt."
"Could you just say where your going with this..?"
"In a minute. Strip."
Nick shrugged and shook off his clothing except his briefs and the t-shirt.
"Now what?"
"Now we`ll go to the bedroom." Greg grabbed him from the shoulders and pushed him
to the bedroom. "Now listen to this." A portable cd-player sat on the nightstand. Greg
pressed play and music started. Nick tried to listen to lyrics, but they were definitely
not English.
"...Käske miestäsi pukeutumaan Che Guevaraan kun te kaadutte sänkyyn, hetkeksi
toisiko se sitä vaaraa..."
"Doesn`t sound Norwegian." Nick commented.
"No, that band`s from Finland, actually." Greg explained. "They are called HappoRadio."
"Radio?"
"Yeah, it means `AcidRadio`. Guess what the lyrics mean?"
"I have no idea."
"It means.." Greg pulled a print out from his pocket. "Tell your man to dress up in Che
Guevara when you fall into the bed, maybe it would bring a sense of danger."
Nick stared at him for a moment with his mouth open. "Greg, what is your point?"
"This is the most important thing about the lesson." Suddenly Greg leaped against Nick
and tackled him. Nick ended up on the bed with Greg straddling him.
"Music appreciation 101. Be willing to internalize the music to understand it. I got you
the shirt, now show me some danger."
