CSI Las Vegas Main List On Time, Chapter 1 On Time, Chapter 2 On Time, Chapter 3 On Time, Chapter 4 On Time, Chapter 5 On Time, Chapter 6 Nick was pretty sure he was close to passing out, but he couldn’t help pressing the couch cushions against his head to block the noises. He looked at the clock on the corner of the TV screen. Greg and his buddy had been in the bedroom for four hours.
Finally he heard the door open and saw Warrick staggering out, looking like he had wasted every single one of his brain cells. He leaned against the wall and tried to get his zipper to work. Greg walked out wearing a robe and a smug grin.
“See you next week.”
Warrick couldn’t form an answer, he just nodded obediently and left. Greg came to the living room and sat down next to Nick. He kept waiting for some kind of reaction, but Nick couldn’t meet his eyes, he just kept staring at the TV.
“Sorry if we were too loud. When you put those mood discs on, you kinda lost touch with reality.”
Nick tried to keep his question in, but he failed. “What’s a mood disc?”
“I’ll show you.” Greg grinned and pulled Nick up and to the bedroom. He tapped few keys on the keyboard and the monitors on the wall were filled with bright images of a jungle. Sounds of leafs rustling in the wind and various animals making noises boomed from the speakers.
“You can select the atmosphere and the location. Everything from dim whipping cellars to old fashioned Texas landscape.”
“Why? What’s the point?”
“It’s inspiring! Remember what I said about the AIHB arrangement? That it’s good for your health?”
“Yeah.”
“It was so good for my health I’m ready to go again.” Greg smirked. “You want me to demonstrate?”
“No! I mean…. no. I don’t do that.” Nick looked like a duck during the hunting season. “That’s not… I don’t do that.”
“You don’t have sex?”
“Not like that! Not ten minutes after you screwed that guys brains out in the same bed!”
“We can do it on the floor or on the couch, I don’t mind.”
“I’ve been with three girls in my entire life and I’ve never had a one night stand so stop talking like that.”
“Two.”
“What?”
“Two girls, Maddy doesn’t count.”
“She counts-” Nick paused. “How thoroughly did you dig up my past?”
“Very thoroughly. And Maddy still doesn’t count.”
“It counts! We were teenagers and we didn’t know what we were doing, but it counts.”
“Do I need to remind you? You got to grope her for few minutes in the backseat of your dad’s car and you didn’t even get her knickers off. And the next day she told all the other cheerleaders how horrible it was and you were the laughing stock of the whole school.”
“Fine, it doesn’t count. But I was always serious about that stuff, I didn’t do that just because I was in a mood. And never with a man.” He saw Greg opening his mouth to speak. “And don’t bring up Mike again.”
“Okay, okay. And for the record, I don’t mind old values. I may laugh at them and make fun of them, but I don’t mind them.” Suddenly a wide grin appeared on Greg’s face. “Actually…. Did you have something you wanted to do today?”
“No. Why?”
“I got an idea, and I think you’ll like it. Well, maybe not like it, but you’ll wanna see it. We need to go back to the office first.”
Nick froze in place.
“Don’t look like that, I’m not gonna leave you there. But I can’t do it here because of the security protocols. And one more thing.”
“What?” Nick sighed deeply.
Greg took a small remote and clicked few keys. The screens on the walls all now showed the same footage. First Nick thought it was a blue movie, but then he realised what it was. On the screens Greg and Warrick were getting it on, and the soundtrack of moans and heavy breathing filled the room.
“The camera system is actually for security purposes, but it’s more fun this way. I’ll go take a shower and get dressed, you just wait here and enjoy the show.”
-----------------------------------------------------------
“How many times do they need to check my security thingies?” Nick complained when they stepped out of the elevator. A visitor pass was hanging from his neck on a thin chain.
“Quit whining.” Greg tapped his security code to a keypad and they walked into a small room. There was several large seats and one large monitor on the wall.
“What is this place?”
“This is one of the screening rooms of the achieves. Remember when I told you about changing the time line?”
“Yeah.”
“How I said all that stuff didn’t happen because we removed you from the timeline? Well, that also means that all kind of documents and materials linked to those events also disappeared. It never happened so everything related to that ceased to exist. You understand that?”
“I think so.”
“That’s why we had to come here. Our people designed a way to keep that material in electric form. Documents, pictures, film, and so on. It’s all kept here in the archives. If someone tries to remove it from the databank or change it’s form to some regular type, it will self-destruct. Like taking an ancient mummy from it`s case. When it meets outside world, it starts to perish. It never existed so it disappears.”
“So what are we here?”
“I thought you may wanna see your kids. What they would have looked like.”
“Do we have to watch everything?”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, do we have to watch everything they did? And their own kids?”
“It’s probably better if you see it all yourself. But I gotta warn you. It’s pretty ugly.”
