Here is How You Will Forget to be Human (Again)

Rating: R for sex, though it's not particularly graphic
Genre: Introspective? Kind of a character study.
Characters/Pairing: Itachi/Sakura (of a sort... uh, warning for the fact that this is probably the most UNItachi/Sakura ItaSaku fic ever... and how I managed that, I don't know O_o)

This was awesome. I love the way you write - its always so surreal feeling, like a dreamscape. The scenes are always like something out of an artsy movie and I love that. XD

I also like the idea of Sakura having a secret darkness, a hidden desire to be bad or at least seek out the bad. It fits her in a way, especially since she is so proper on the outside. Shes had some trauma in her life that could certainly manifest into that sort of self destructive behavior.

Yeah, funny how the surreality always happens... I don't really plan it that way. Apparently my fiction-writing brain is weird that way. But I'm glad you liked.

Gotta love all those troubled ninja guys and gals. O hai, I was totally looking at my Itachi, Sasori, and Deidara wallscroll while writing this, ffff. XD

Damn, once again I must clap and be awed for your writing.
Also yep it was kinda UNItachixSakura for a Itachi/Sakura XD
And Sasuke was lingering on the edges. Which is something I always want when they write ItachixSakura that is not AU.

The Sasuke-ness is actually because when I write a pairing, it's imperative for me to find some issue over which the two can relate, and I honestly don't see Itachi or Sakura relating over much of anything besides Sasuke. Loving him, assuming either/both does/did, is what they principally have in common, so I wanted to try a story addressing this. :]

Ok, so...I owe you a review b/c once again, you're outdone yourself.

I think the highlights of this fics are your Itachi instrospectives, which are written very beautifully with imagery and comparisons and contrasts. I already told you I really love the different Konoha idea, because it's so true and very beautiful.

The relationship and Itachi's thoughts on Sasuke were something I really loved, the idea of pretense and duty, which is what I think Itachi is all about and what he's essentially become.

What makes this fic work, and the pairing implications work is how everything is centered on Sasuke, which I completely agree with. It's one of the reasons I can't ship Itasaku anymore because Itachi's life is just so focused on Sasuke and I liked how you brought that element into connecting the two, because really, I also think that is the one thing they have in common or could understand about one another.

Kudos on the pairings you hate but wrote anyone. It's great exercise, imo, lol.

Thank you, Jiyin! I always love your reviews. Yeah, I really think their affection for Sasuke is the only -- or main -- thing that the two of them have in common, so I wanted to write a story exploring it. You know... you should do some drabbles for this meme, winkwinknudgenudge. :P PK has come up quite a bit, and there may be other stuff on it you'd be interested in writing, if you have some spare time.

Yeah, I've been on such a writing slump lately...it just comes and goes but I can't get myself to write at all lol.

Oh, I really loved this. This pairing can be really cool when done well, I think. I'm not sure why my heart breaks so much for Itachi - given some of the really terrible things he did - but you really brought it out here. Just really well characterized. Thanks for this!

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed. I do like that Kishi tries to make characters somewhat sympathetic (most of 'em, anyway), even when they do horrible things. My heart goes out to him, too. :]

Wow. I am totally in awe. Above all, this piece reminds me how much I miss Itachi (favourite character, much?). If I was an emotional person, that'd probably made me cry. Aww, Itachi! *loves*

Anyway, Itachi/Sakura might be my Naruto OTP, if well written and IC, and this was a wonderful example of it! I don't even think it was Un-Itachi/Sakura.

I adore your Itachi characterization! It just all ... fits! Itachi's fading sight is too perfect. Yes, so much YES! Sakura was great as well. The use of Tsukiyomi, and the surreal feeling that comes with it and seeps into the whole fic ... I could probably quote half of the story because there were so many great lines ...

And the structure -- this is so well done! The repeated imagery and parallels, and how they collide ... *adores some more*

Thank you so much. First time writing Itachi, but I've been wanting to write him for a while now, because I think he could have an interesting outlook on a lot of things. I do love writing some surreality here and there, so that technique is perfect for it. And aw, you're too kind. Thanks for all the compliments.
