Come with me on a trip in time :::wibblywobblywibblywobbly::: back to when XF was actually on the telly and hadn't irredeemably pissed off a giant tranche of its fans. That story really devastated me the first time I read it. I felt so angry at Mulder; yet, given who he is and how he feels about Scully and how responsible and guilty he feels about her first abduction, it makes sense that he would do this. I just kept thinking about Scully, out there, waiting for him, worrying about him, wondering when and if he will come. In my head, A Candle for Katherine is the sequel, and if it isn't, I don't want to know any different.

There are lots of lovely, subtle details that make this story appear right before my eyes.
