yolen and I had talked about getting married, of course. Such things come up in conversation, at least when you've been dating for almost 2 years.
So Saturday, while playing with her rings, which is something I've been doing about as long as we have been dating, I slipped an engagement ring on her finger. It took her a few seconds to realize the change-off I did, swapping one ring for another.
Once she did, she started crying, hugged me, and called me a "sneaky bastard".
That afternoon, at the May Day party, I waited to see if anyone would notice. Surprisingly enough, no one did. I think in part, it was because the ring, which had belonged to my grandmother, isn't all "blingy". It's platinum, not gold, and the stones are not super large. On Sunday, my own parents and brother did not notice, until I pointed it out, and my mother is the one who gave me the ring this past year!
In any event, a few quick answers to general queries:
No, we have not set a time and locale.
No, she is not moving into the condo with me this month. We are not going to co-habitate before we are married.
On the other hand, some of her stuff (mostly furniture) may be moving in with me before then.
