I see that the dead return from beyond the grave in Discedo. Such a disruption to the cycle of life is completely unnatural and makes the concept of death meanlingessIt makes me wonder how a place like this deals with its criminals, or indeed, if any homicides are committed. A break in the boundary between life and death rarely has that effect. I'd imagine it's simply too difficult to change their view of death, after having it for so long.

Perhaps it can be brushed off as instinct. Then again, most define 'life' by 'death', even if they leave room for an afterlife.

Nihilism itself is not necessarily foolish. I believe that in a world without death, only we ourselves can be relied upon to define life. I chose the path of perfection back home, and I will not stray from it here!
