Don't try to do everything in cleaning on a Saturday. Honestly, spreading things out and breaking them up works better, even if you have more time on Saturdays.
She's hokey, but I recommend Flylady -- http://www.flylady.net -- who breaks house maintenance down into manageable tasks that reduce the huge mountain of impossibility there in one-day-a-week cleaning schemes. I can't manage that and I can't think of anyone who does!
Great website! I feel like I'm the kind of impatient/perfectionist person she is targeting because some of the steps/behavior changes are like AAAAHH scary. I will probably try her steps and see how it goes. Thanks for the link.
IF my back wasn't really messed up today after the ill advised mattress flip I would go shine my sink :). Maybe tomorrow.
The big thing is to not waste your time, dig the hole deeper, in other words, by flagellating yourself over work undone. Little bits help and once your back is manageable (you're taking ibuprofen or another muscle relaxant, aren't you?), you can shine your sink.
