It was a... it was a night and Rosalind was nearly dizzy with emotion as she fumbled for her phone, keeping a watch on her mother. Needing to keep a watch on her mother. Their mother.
Which meant the three of them were supposed to be here. There?
The message that Rosalind left--why wasn't Elena answering her phone, what was she doing, didn't she know how important tonight was?--was very... outside of the norm for Rosalind.
She was not much of the cool, calm and collected older sibling tonight. (Never mind that Elena was older here. She was still the older sibling.)
"Elena--" Had her sister ever heard her voice choked with tears and brimming with feeling? Rosalind doubted it. She couldn't remember ever having spoken so. "I... the beach. Come to the beach. Quickly."
The words stuck in her throat, making it hard to form coherent sentences. She needed to pull herself together but it was difficult when she could glance over and see... see her mother.
Her mother was the reason that Rosalind paused, then added, "PleaseIt was so

Karla had meant to make this call yesterday, but with all the Emma/Bobby craziness, it had kind of fallen off the radar. "Elena? It's Karla. I--I finally remembered why I recognized Cloud. We need to talk."
