As far as weird things that have happened to the island, this one was actually kind of cool. The last time Thalia had been to an amusement park had been years ago, passing through an old and abandoned one on her trek across country. There had been monsters involved and she'd camped out in an old dart game station during the day, knowing that if she lingered at night it was bound to end terribly. She could vaguely recall a trip to an amusement park as a kid, one of Mom's staffers having taken pity on her when she was seven and too little ride most of the rides. She hadn't wanted to go, but the idea of getting away from her mother even for a little while had been welcome.

Either way both of those times were too long ago to really count. None of them had the same weird cool that this did, as if the island had woken up that morning and decided that this place was desperately lacking in tilt-a-whirls and roller coasters. Maybe it was. She hadn't ever thought about it all that much.

Thalia had long since lost count of how many cheeseburgers and chili fries she'd had, of how blue her tongue must be from the slushies. She was likely going to regret it come tomorrow when the sugar high faded and all of it caught up with her. It really just good practice that she hadn't thrown up after her fourth time on one of the bigger coasters. There was always a chance that the moment she hopped back on one after night had really fallen that she'd be well and truly sick. But for now, she's just enjoying the whole thing still slightly wary, but ready to relax for just a little while.

Dusk was falling, the sky darkening into shades of dark red and purple as the lights on the ride turn on in groups. She was dressed in a short silver dress, the effect ruined by her combat boots and leather jacket. Her chin was tilted upwards as she stared at the carousel, watching it whirl around until it started to blur slightly as she lost focus. Catching sight of someone approaching out of the corner of her eye, she lowered her gaze still smiling as she saw Harley nearby.

"Hey," she greeted. "It's all really something else, isn't it?"
