Ironically I like a poem about Ulysses but I cannot post, my favourite poem Beowulf I cannot post, second the Odyssey is after that then both a tad too long!!
I love the old epic poems and reread again and again

Have you read the Finnish epic poem Kalevala? Sounds like that would be right up your alley, then. Wikipedia has a list of online versions.

I still have to get thro the inferno, I put that one on hold and am currently just arriving in Paris with the Count, but after that I will try to get around to it, looks interesting

I thought Kalevala was very interesting at least. I can't vouch for any of the English translations btw, since I've only read it in Swedish. (Wish I could read the original in Finnish..!)

I've loved this poem since I first heard it - I must have been in my mid-teens I think. Believe it or not, I discovered it through the tv-series Babylon 5 - proof that not all American tv-series are mind-numbing and unintelligent :D

Babylon 5 and the hot women, I cant remember there was dialogue in it ;)
