In my head, that is exactly what they did, including the mistletoe. Because Danny's love of New York City would not allow them to do anything but wander around the city in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve, and... well, c'mon, there has to be mistletoe. ^^

Eee! I adore this. Nothing beats the boys' banter for the holidays*. (Dan needs a mistletoe hat, I think.) Such worthwhile traditions.
