I swear my first reaction when I saw the poem at the beginning was to walk away and flail so much, which is just my kneejerk reaction to that poem in general. ...Yes.

ANYWAY. Oh Jack. I just want to hug him so much. And... Punch the Doctor in the face a bit, but oh I can see this being their relationship. It just makes so much sense even if it makes me wibble and flail.

It's less with the wanting to punch the Doctor in the face if you know WHY he's like that, but from Jack's side... yeah. Kind of an ass.

That poem has been sitting around just waiting for me to write a Doctor/Jack fic for it for ages. And yeah, it makes me flail too. Rawr.

And... yeah. I love the Doctor. But he is, on occasion, a jerk. And fails at grasping squoogy human emotions.

Stupid poem... Except not, because I really, really like it. It's just when it gets applied to certain characters and situations... Yeah.

Yes, and I love him even for his jerkiness! It just tends to make me feel really bad for his Companions... Like, you know, with Martha. And, of course, Jack. Oh, Doctor. You could stand to fail at squoogy human emotions a little less. ♥

(Unrelated, I like that word. Squoogy.)

Yes, I could see this. The Oncoming Control Freak ;)

...the Doctor twists easily away from under his hands like a cat, like liquid, like smoke.

And that's a great line. The Doctor's a lot like a cat. Affectionate, but with conditions. (And I love that about him!)

...now that I think about it, if you haven't read it, you might like vail-kagami's Ten/Jack story, "Like Walking Through a Labyrinth," which has a similar theme.

Thank you! *Giggles* And now I will never be able to stop calling him the Oncoming Control Freak in my head.

And thank you for the rec! I'll have to track that down. ^^

That, to me, is the epitome of Nine. It sums up the way he does nearly everything. Thank you for putting it so concisely and so well.

Thank you! I have a bit of trouble writing Nine's character sometimes - it's so nice to be told I've got it right. ^^

He's more volatile and far closer to the surface of himself than any of the other Doctors. It makes him harder to gasp, because he's more present while still being larger than life--- credit where credit is due. You've done a wonderful job.
