Yes, that is it, thank you! Stupidly, I even looked at the first two parts of the Beltane Cycle when I was looking for it but didn't realise it was the same fic.

Thanks but its not either of those i'm afraid. It was more like an actual episode of merlin but in a parody style that pointed out all the cliches and inconsistencies in the show. Sorry I don't have much more to go on. I think there might have been a magical attack of some kind and the dragon going really over the top with his prophecies about merlin and arthur.
