I've been working out on a near-daily basis, mostly weight lifting paired with a protein shake. It's been awesome, because I already feel better about my body, but I'm so sore. A deeper pain, not like burning muscles after a good workout, but down to the bones, especially in my lower back (which has always been weak). So today I'm taking a break, ( Read more... )

I'm still on season 2 of Revenge, just past the point where a certain important someone died, so I was pretty much crying through two episodes last night. Do you watch Pretty Little Liars, by any chance? If so, I'll be happy to be able to rant with someone about it! I hate waiting week to week as well, but when I know a new episode is out I have trouble waiting, and PLL is going to be one of those. I also kinda like having something to look forward to each week, especially while school is in full swing. It's a nice little break.

I think the trick for me and working out is not to give myself much of a break. Because if I don't do SOMETHING each day, I'll get lazy quickly and give up after like a week. So one day I'll do upper body, next day lower body, next day core (or rest, depending on what my abs feel like). And I've found cardio is worthless, so I only do lifting anymore. Burns more calories at rest and results you can SEE are faster. :)

Sometimes I'm amazed I got as far as I did in PLL, because it definitely gets ridiculous and repetitive, and I don't know how on earth they hold up so well emotionally, but it gets SO. GOOD. The "real" A reveal was fantastic, and now I'm a legit fan of the show.

Which Murakami book are you reading now? I still have to read 1Q84 but haven't started with it yet, that would be next:)

Norwegian Wood. It's the first of his I've read and I like it quite a bit so far. I keep seeing IQ84 around and want to pick it up, but I haven't had a lot of time to read lately, unfortunately.
