- If a news organization, or worse the news branch of an entertainment organization, is going to be politically biased, go ahead. Just be upfront about it. Don't try to pretend you're fair and balanced when you're instead going to devote most of your time and energy to promoting one candidate and slandering the other ( Read more... )

- Real theater might be where the 'talent' is, but community theater is where the passion and the innovation is.

There's a fantastic episode of This American Life where someone helps prisoners practice and prepare for a theatrical showing of Hamlet. I'll try to snag it for you.

I saw a documentary about a guy devoting himself to putting on the Tempest at a hardcore lockdown prison and it was fabulous!

I've heard some amazing things about the benefits and qualities of prison theater. It's kind of a crazy notion, that prisoners just might be people as well.
