My gut reaction to these sorts of things is usually something like: that can't possibly be meaningful and I suppose the person in question will figure it out someday and move on.

But is it possible that some people really do find meaning in rabid fandom or egotistical music? I don't think there's real, lifelong, satisfying meaning to be found there, but just because I don't think so doesn't mean there isn't.

I try to stay away from that sort of thing, anyway.
