The weekend

Friday we drove up to Maine, leaving here around 10 in the morning and arriving before 6 PM, I think. We didn't really do anything other than check out the tattoo convention, have dinner and call it a night. We never actually went for lobster, I'm the only one in the family that likes it.

Maine has always been a place of great meaning to me, also. jessi was conceived on a beach there, I made the revelation that I was miserably unhappy in my marriage there, and then, whilst vacationing there again 13 years later, made the final decision to move out of that marriage.

Unfortunately, Starla's forebears are from Maine. Poor, hard-scrabble potato farmers who barely had enough time on their hands for a proprer hug hello let alone the collection of precious memories for her. Hence, she declines Maine vacations. Sigh.

I'm glad you and the fam got a breather and spent a few red pennies on the lovely businesses there, God knows they need the tourist cash these days. Maine will be there for when we're ready. :-)

Thanks, Windi. I hope you can get some Maine time for yourself eventually.

You better believe it. And the Lindt shop was having a HUGE SALE! Not only did we buy 10 chocolate bars for $15.00 but the slighly imperfect looking truffles were $6.00 a bag of about 30 truffles. Damn, I'm gonna be huge.
