Yard tools and other loose stuff put away: check
Windows closed: check
Mom battened down: check

Subways and public transit are closed down. Schools are closed. Nothing to do now but wait it out now. Hoping anyone else in the path of Sandy is safe and sound.

just watching the Weather Channel and it looks mighty rough there in Manhattan. Hope things are all right where you are.

The wind is blowing pretty darn hard though at the moment we have no rain. We still have power but the rest of my block doesn't and my Mom lost power a few hours ago. She's not alone though, so she should be ok.
